Day 2 – Delhi City Tour: Old Delhi & New Delhi
After breakfast, you start a full-day sightseeing tour of India’s capital. You begin in Old Delhi, where you visit Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in India, and see the busy streets around it. You then ride a cycle rickshaw through Chandni Chowk, passing spice shops, sweet stalls, and saree sellers.
You see Red Fort from outside or inside, depending on time and ticket choice. Later, you go to Raj Ghat, the memorial to Mahatma Gandhi. In the afternoon, you move to New Delhi, visiting Humayun’s Tomb and Qutub Minar, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. You also drive past India Gate, the Parliament House, and the President’s Residence. If time allows, you can add a visit to the Lotus Temple.
Local tip: Old Delhi can feel crowded and chaotic. Keep your valuables secure and follow your guide’s instructions in bazaars.

Day 3 – Delhi to Agra: Taj City Welcome
After breakfast, you check out and drive to Agra, usually around 3.5–4 hours by road along a modern expressway. Your private car stops on the way for tea or washrooms when you wish.
On arrival, you check in to your hotel. After freshening up, you visit Taj Mahal, the world-famous symbol of love built by Shah Jahan for Mumtaz Mahal. You can explore the main platform, view the inlay details, and take photos from the gardens. Later, you visit Agra Fort, where Mughal emperors once lived, and Itimad-ud-Daulah, also called the “Baby Taj” for its delicate marble work.
Overnight: Hotel in Agra
Day 4 – Agra Sunrise (Optional) – Fatehpur Sikri – Chand Baori – Jaipur
If you wish, you wake up early for an optional sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal. The early morning light and fewer crowds make this visit very special, and many travelers say it is one of their best memories.
After breakfast at the hotel, you drive toward Jaipur. On the way, you stop at Fatehpur Sikri, Akbar’s abandoned red sandstone capital with palaces and a grand mosque. You then continue to Abhaneri, where you visit Chand Baori, one of India’s deepest and most impressive stepwells with 3,500 narrow steps over many levels.
By late afternoon or evening, you reach Jaipur, the Pink City, and check in to your hotel. The evening stays free for rest or a simple walk in nearby markets.
Overnight: Hotel in Jaipur
Day 5 – Jaipur City Tour: Forts and Palaces
After breakfast, you drive to Amber Fort (Amer Fort), located on a hill about 20–30 minutes outside Jaipur. You can go up by jeep (or, in some programs, by decorated elephant at extra cost) and then walk through courtyards and halls. Inside, you see the Sheesh Mahal (mirror palace), Ganesh Pol gateway, and royal rooms with beautiful views.
Back in the city, you stop at Jal Mahal (Water Palace) for photos, then visit Hawa Mahal from outside or inside, famous for its many jharokha-style windows. In the afternoon, you explore City Palace and its museum, and then Jantar Mantar, the astronomical observatory with large instruments used to read the sky.
Later, you can shop for textiles, jewelry, and handicrafts in the local markets. Jaipur is known for block-printed fabrics, gemstones, and blue pottery.

Day 6 – Jaipur to Delhi – Flight to Srinagar
After breakfast, you check out and drive back to Delhi Airport, which usually takes around 5–6 hours by road. Your driver ensures you reach in time for your evening flight to Srinagar.
You take a domestic flight to Srinagar (exact flight will depend on the date and airline schedule). On arrival in Kashmir’s capital, your local representative meets you and transfers you to a houseboat on Dal Lake or Nigeen Lake.
You settle into your wooden houseboat, enjoy dinner on board, and rest with views of the lake and mountains.
Overnight: Houseboat in Srinagar
Day 7 – Srinagar: Mughal Gardens & Shikara Ride
After breakfast on the houseboat, you explore Srinagar’s legendary Mughal Gardens. You visit Nishat Bagh (Garden of Joy) and Shalimar Bagh (Abode of Love), built by Mughal emperors along the shores of Dal Lake. Many travelers also include Chashme Shahi and, in season, the Tulip Garden, which is Asia’s largest tulip garden and a major attraction in spring.
In the afternoon or near sunset, you take a shikara ride on Dal Lake, gliding past floating gardens, village homes on stilts, and the famous floating market. The atmosphere is calm and romantic, very different from busy Indian cities. If you wish, you can also visit the Hazratbal Shrine, one of Kashmir’s holiest Muslim shrines, on the lake’s northern shore.
Local tip: Carry a light jacket even in summer; evenings on the water can feel cool.
Overnight: Houseboat in Srinagar
Day 8 – Srinagar to Gulmarg: Meadows and Gondola
After breakfast, you drive to Gulmarg, often called the “Meadow of Flowers”, which takes about 1.5–2 hours from Srinagar by road. On the way, you pass small villages, rice fields, and views of snow peaks in the distance.
In Gulmarg, you check in to a hotel or resort. You then have time to enjoy the surroundings: green meadows in summer, snow in winter. You can take the Gondola cable car (paid locally) up to Kongdoori or further to Apharwat, where on clear days you see wide views of the Himalayas. In winter, Gulmarg is a famous ski destination; in summer, it is great for walks and horse rides.
Overnight: Hotel in Gulmarg
Day 9 – Gulmarg to Pahalgam: Valleys and Rivers
In the morning, after breakfast, you drive to Pahalgam, often called the Valley of Shepherds. The drive takes around 4–5 hours, passing through saffron fields near Pampore and the old temple ruins of Avantipur.
On arrival in Pahalgam, you check in to your hotel located near the Lidder River. You can relax and enjoy the views of pine forests, mountains, and the river. Many Indian films have been shot in and around Pahalgam, so some spots may look familiar from movies.
If time allows, you can visit Betaab Valley, named after a Bollywood film, with its grassy meadows, wooden bridges, and river views.
Overnight: Hotel in Pahalgam
Day 10 – Pahalgam to Srinagar via Aru Valley
After breakfast, you visit Aru Valley, about 30–40 minutes from Pahalgam by car. Aru is known for its open meadows, forests, and mountain views, and acts as a base for treks to Kolahoi Glacier and high-altitude lakes. You can enjoy short walks, horse rides, or simply take in the scenery.
By afternoon, you drive back to Srinagar, usually taking 2.5–3 hours. On arrival, you check in to a hotel (or back to a houseboat, depending on your plan) and have the evening free. You might use this time for shopping in Lal Chowk, where shops sell pashmina shawls, carpets, papier-mâché items, and dried fruits.
Overnight: Hotel or houseboat in Srinagar
Day 11 – Srinagar – Sonmarg Excursion – Departure
After an early breakfast, you head out on a day trip to Sonmarg, about 2.5–3 hours from Srinagar by road, known as the “Meadow of Gold”. The drive offers beautiful views of hills, rivers, and small villages. On arrival, you can hire a local horse or pony (paid directly) to reach Thajiwas Glacier, where snow often remains for much of the year.
- By afternoon, you drive back to Srinagar. Depending on your flight time, you can adjust this day in two ways:
- If your flight is late at night or next day, you return to Srinagar, rest for a while, and then transfer to the airport.
- If you have a midday flight, you may shorten the Sonmarg visit or swap the order of days so that your airport transfer feels relaxed and safe.
You then fly from Srinagar to Delhi (or your next onward destination), ending your Golden Triangle Tour with Kashmir journey with memories of cities, lakes, and mountains.

Yes, some travelers fly into Srinagar first and visit Delhi–Agra–Jaipur at the end. Your tour operator can adjust the order based on flights and weather.
3. Is Kashmir safe for tourists now?
Kashmir welcomes many domestic and international visitors each year. It is important, however, to travel with a reputable local partner, follow current advisories, and stay in known tourist areas.
